DECATURIn recognition of National Arbor Day, Keep DeKalb Beautiful, Inc. (KDB), in conjunction with the DeKalb County Extension Service and the DeKalb County Master Gardeners, is selling tree seedlings on Saturday, February 20, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the DeKalb Tax Commissioners Office/Extension Service, 4380 Memorial Drive in Decatur.

This year’s Arbor Day celebration theme, “Trees are Terrific…and Energy Wise,” reminds citizens that planting the right tree in the right place provides valuable shade that converts to dollars and cents in energy conservation.

Citizens can also ask questions of the experts, such as “how to plant and care for new trees,” while picking up seedlings.

All tree seedlings are priced at $3.  Seedlings are sold bare root, but will be packaged in plastic bags with compost.  Seedling choices include Dogwood, Red Cedar, Wild Plum, Crepe Myrtle, and Redbud.

For more information on this event and to pre-order seedlings, please contact KDB at
404-371-2654 or email kdb@co.dekalb.ga.us.
